Therapeutic Focus

Haile enjoys working with individuals aged 18+ facing challenges such as low self-esteem, anxiety, navigating life transitions, burnout, and body positivity. She particularly welcomes those in the service industry, nomadic lifestyles (van-lifers, snowbirds, seasonal workers, travel bloggers, etc.), and individuals seeking a nonjudgmental space to be heard.

A Therapeutic Approach

Haile's therapeutic style is collaborative, often integrating dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), person-centered therapy, and Gestalt interventions. She focuses on tailoring the therapeutic experience to your unique needs and preferences. She believes in a collaborative therapeutic relationship where clients actively participate in setting goals and developing strategies for personal growth, empowering you in your journey.

Therapy Styles

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT):

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) was created by Marsha Linehan in Seattle, WA as a type of therapy designed to help you manage strong emotions and improve how you deal with stress and relationships. It combines teaching and therapeutic techniques to give you practical skills for handling difficult situations and interacting with others more effectively.

Originally created to help people with severe emotional struggles, DBT is now used for various mental health issues, including self-esteem, body positivity, and anxiety. It involves learning and practicing skills both in and out of sessions to support continuous personal growth and better self-understanding.

  • Person Centered Therapy:

Person-centered therapy is a counseling approach that focuses on your unique experiences and strengths. Developed by Carl Rogers, this therapy trusts that you have the ability to find your own solutions and make positive changes in your life. The therapist's role is to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you feel respected and valued, helping you build self-confidence and a clearer sense of identity.

This approach is helpful for those dealing with issues like anxiety, low self-esteem, or relationship problems. During sessions, clients talk while the therapist listens, reflects, and provides support, fostering self-discovery and personal growth. The key to Person-Centered Therapy is a genuine and empathetic therapeutic relationship, which helps you feel understood and empowered to navigate your challenges.

  • Gestalt Interventions:

Gestalt therapy is a type of counseling that helps you focus on the present moment to better understand your feelings and experiences. Developed by Fritz and Laura Perls, it encourages you to actively engage in your therapy sessions through role-playing, re-enactment, and creative exercises. This approach aims to increase your self-awareness and address negative thought patterns by exploring how your past influences your current emotions and behaviors.

This therapy is particularly useful for those dealing with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and relationship issues. It encourages you to express and work through unresolved emotions, which can help alleviate psychological and physical symptoms. By becoming more aware of your thoughts and feelings, you can learn to handle challenges more effectively and live a more fulfilling life.

I acknowledge that I work, live, and play on the stolen ancestral lands of the Indigenous people of Seattle. I honor with deep gratitude, the land itself and the Coast Salish Tribes, past and present. As a non-Indigenous professional, I commit to educating myself on the historical & present colonial violence, how I contribute to this, and learning ways I can provide culturally responsive services.
